I hope that one day I'll be wise enough to speak my truth in a way that is kinder, more nonconfrontational.
For now, part of me's just glad that I do eventually say what I think. For so much of my life I've shied away from expressing myself, equivocated, tried not to hold too much of an opinion about anything. That dynamic even affected my writing--rendered me, in effect, mute for over ten years.
Even now, I only say the really important stuff to a chosen few.
But then, sometimes I think that means that I only hurt those dearest to me. And I hate that.
