I think that sometimes the truth has to be spoken, even if it hurts. Hopefully, it's the kind of hurt that's like a surgery - it leads to healing.

The practice of yoga (not the physical practice but the all-encompassing practice of linking the mind and the gross self to the true Self) includes the principle of satya, truthfulness. Yes, ideally, you are not supposed to speak any truth that is harmful. But when there is more harm in staying silent, that has to be weighed too.
