Okay, so I'm filling out these OKCupid questions, mainly 'cause I'm bored and half-making dinner half-watching kids. 'Cause I already have a partner, and a something-or-other, so I'm not actually looking for anything. Still, somehow it still seems like a fun exercise, maybe because I get to know myself better and think about various issues. (I think this relatively cavalier approach is pretty clear from reading my profile. Definitely the married part is.) Anyway, there's a question about how important the actual question at hand is to you (which seems a tad meta). 'Is it a dealbreaker?' in other words.

Usually I lackadaisically drift through the topics, checking 'a little important' or 'somewhat important' or, even more rarely, 'very important.' Many other times I skip the question because it feels irrelevant.

Until I ran across one that said, "Do you prefer that your match use correct spelling and grammar?"

Umm, why yes. Yes I do.

This is the only question whose response I checked as mandatory.

I'm kind of afraid of what this says about me.

That you're kind of like me? At my high school graduation banquet, the class historian was responsible for making up a fake "where are they now" sort of thing saying what all of us went on to. She had me down as shooting my husband for using a double negative. ;)

(Which is ridiculous because I wouldn't marry someone who'd use a double negative, in the first place.)
