Year in Review
Jan. 1st, 2006 08:19 pmI got sick. A lot. I don't know how I'm going to improve upon this, but random samplings from this journal suggest that it's true, and I'm currently sick.
I started roleplaying on Puzzlebox Muck and learned a lot about writing and myself through playing a centaur character.
I met a lot of incredibly neat folks irl back in July, most of them new or newish friends who now feel like old friends. (Okay, I stole that line, but it's true.) I also met cool folks online. There was quite a bit of overlap between the two.
I vastly improved my rl social life by getting together semi-regularly with Liana and Michelle (the mom from Daniel's kindergarten class). (I got to know both Liana and May better during one of May's visits.)
I got very little sleep throughout all of 2005. Perhaps this is why it's an extended blur.
My baby started kindergarten. I climbed a fence.
I visited NC again with my family, and Dave and I continued making plans to move up there.
I spent a very fun Halloween at
I wrote more poetry and became more confident as a poet.
I got to see my son become the star of the school Christmas play.
I developed a close friendship this year that defies description but that has brought immeasurable joy into my life. Actually, there were a few of these, each of them amazing in its own way. But this particular connection feels as if it's meant to be an ongoing, continued presence. Time will tell.
I got the kids' room organized and into some semblance of order. I haven't done as well with the rest of the house, but I'm continuing to work on it.
I journalled regularly. Most of you know this. :-)
There were lots of less-than moments...Jacob's suicide, Dave's hospitalization, my own weird neuro symptoms and CAT scan, my stepdad's mom's death, my father-in-law's medical scares. I didn't exercise or eat as well as I wanted to. I stopped going to church and sending my kids to preschool. I lost touch with some friends. But overall, looking back, I'm pleased. There is much to be thankful for.
