Jan. 23rd, 2005 11:43 amAfter being awake much of the night, my baby is stretched out on her bed, clad in a diaper and a pair of tennis shoes, a toy resting against her knee, her chest and stomach rising and falling, her face calm, composed in blissful rest.
I should join her, having been up half the night myself, but...it's noon. It doesn't feel like time to sleep.
D & the five-year-old went to visit D's parents this weekend. The two-year-old and I were supposed to go too, but she's been running a low grade temperature (sniffling now) so we decided to stay back. D's father has lots of health issues and we didn't want to chance getting him sick.
I was kind of looking forward to them leaving, if I'm to be brutally honest here. E is a fairly low-maintenance type of kid. And it's been pretty easy, pretty relaxing this weekend. But I do miss them, even more than I thought I would.
