what to do with him... ;-)

The five-year-old has become enamoured of dressing up like a pirate. He's wearing a t-shirt with a skull on it, a red scarf around his neck, jeans, a jacket, and carrying a stick/sword. He has an eyeliner pencil mustache.

"You look so cute!" I said.

I noticed his look.

"Oh, that's right. Pirates aren't cute. You look...fierce. Very fierce."

"No, they're not supposed to look fierce either."

"Oh. Well, how are they supposed to look?"

"Scurvy. Pirates look scurvy. You know, they say, 'What do you do with a scurvy pirate?'"

"Oh. Okay. You look very scurvy."

Somebody hide the oranges.
