Jan. 12th, 2006 10:08 pmWell, twelve days into NaPoeWriMo, and I'm noticing that pretty much all of my writerly energy is going toward poetry and not prose (although I did manage to write an erotic short story yesterday. *grin* ) It's been amazingly fun--difficult in places, but overall I'm loving the whole experience, enough to hope that I'll keep it going, at least to some extent, even after the month is over. Obviously I'm not posting all of the poems I've written here, but I have been x-posting some of my favorites to this journal.
I haven't been mucking very much lately, though. Or rping that much. It's as if all of my creative energy is going into one place. I don't necessarily feel bad about that per se, though I do feel as if I've been neglecting some of you, and I feel bad about that. But I've been doing better at getting stuff done around the house, though, for the most part. I really need to tackle the bedrooms and get them back into shape. And the laundry's spiraling out of control, per usual. But the living room/dining room/foyer/kitchen combo maintenance has been very good, if I do say so myself. And considering that's where we all spend most of our time, that's very good. The office and bathrooms are good too. Really, it's just the bedrooms and laundry rooms that need to be whipped into shape...
Now I'm sounding far too much like the average boring housewife. :-) (Well, except perhaps for the whipping part. ;-) ) But I feel good, and writing is a big part of that, taking what's inside and managing to get some of it out of me and onto the page and into the mind/s of one/s who can understand what I'm trying to say, or at least try to. It's...heady, in the best of ways.
Overall, I feel good.
