Scene 1: It's a usual day on Robot Pirate Island, with the pirates battling the robots with swords and spears. Then the newcomers arrive...
Daniel: Hey! What's this? I don't know where these ninjas came from, but I'm glad they're on our side. (pause) You know how I know they're on our side? It's because they're shooting bows and arrows at the robots.
Peregrine (suspiciously): Do we know they're on our side? Maybe they're just shooting the robots for their own reasons.
Daniel (giving her an appraising look): If they weren't on our side, then they'd be shooting us, too.
Peregrine: Good point.

Scene 2: Dave's getting ready to go to work
Dave: Hey, does this jacket look okay with these pants? I was worried the colors might be too close but not exact...
Peregrine: I think it looks fine.
Daniel: You look like a weatherman!
Dave and Peregrine: *boggle*
Daniel: Well, the jacket makes you look like a weatherman. I'm not so sure about the pants.
(Dave goes into the other room to finish getting ready.)
Daniel: When I say that he looks like a weatherman, I don't mean that he looks bad. He looks good. It's just that the jacket makes him look a little like a weatherman. And I know that, because I know what weathermans look like.
(Dave comes back in the room, carrying a black raincoat.)
Dave: I'm taking this raincoat too, 'cause I'm sure I'll need it today.
Daniel: Okay, you will not look like a weatherman when you're wearing a raincoat. I mean, I'm sure that weathermans do wear raincoats, but not when they're telling about the weather. When they're telling about the weather, they wear a jacket just like the one that you've got on right now. But one time I saw a weatherwoman on TV, in a pavillion, with a raincoat on. So maybe weatherwomans wear raincoats when they're talking about the weather. Well, sometimes they do. I'm not saying they always do.
