update

Mostly just trying (still) to transition back into real life post-con. It gets easier the more time goes by.

Friday night's storms missed us, as far as I know. I didn't see any real evidence of damage in our neighborhood, and though I was awake off and on due to the heavy rain, I didn't even know there was a chance that we could have been hit by a tornado. :-/

It's been raining for a good part of the weekend. Our camping trip was cancelled. Today I'm taking Daniel to see Arthur and the Invisibles (Minimoys?) after Hebrew school.

Also, all weekend Ellie and I have been fighting off some sort of virus. In her, it caused a high fever, lethargy (the alarming kind), and a bit of stomach upset. My stomach has been bothering me a bit more than hers, and I've been more fatigued than normal, but other than that things have been okay. She was sickest Friday night, when we were all at the synagogue for Daniel's consecration.

Said consecration went well. Daniel did really great at reading his part, both alone and with the other child who was being consecrated. Basically it means he's starting Hebrew school and becoming a part of the congregation in that way. He got his own little Torah scroll, which was pretty cool. The only negative about the whole experience was Ellie's fever getting higher and higher during the service, and not being able to take her home due to Daniel having a prominent role in the service. That was a bit stressful. But her fever broke during the night, and while she was running a low-grade fever yesterday, she seemed better. Hopefully today she'll be mostly back to normal.

I'm stressing a little bit emotionally over a friend who apparently spent some time in the ER this weekend, though I don't know much more than that. It'll be good when/if I have some sense of what's going on.
