post-spring break post
Mar. 18th, 2007 08:04 pmThe general consensus was that the week we spent with
beetiger,
projectmothra, and
bard_bloom here was a bit like a con - with the late nights, roleplaying/gaming, karaoke, conversation, and general hilarity that statement would suggest. Unfortunately for
bard_bloom and me, that also meant coming down with 'con crud,' which in this case was a fairly nasty gastrointestinal bug that I'm just now getting over.
Today is the first day I've felt like something approaching normal, eating semi-regular meals and staying a bit active trying to get caught up on laundry and picking up a bit. That said, I'm feeling a bit queasy again tonight and wondering if I might have overdone it.
It was great having geeky parent couple friends around. It made me really miss my friend Michelle, made me want to establish local connections similar to the one I shared with her family before they moved. That's in the general sense. In the specific sense...well, I can't say that it cemented the bond with the Blooms, as we were close before the visit, but we're definitely even closer now. Even though at times, witnessing our family in all of its glory and chaos and dysfunction, for them it might have seemed like trial by fire. :-)
Anyway, I'm glad they're (you're) all my friends. ♥
