daily gratitude post
Nov. 10th, 2007 02:14 pmDaniel tested for (and received) his green belt today. The instructor who owns/runs the school was talking to the students about the tenets of Tae Kwon Do, explaining what it means to have integrity. "It doesn't matter if you're pretty sure you know you won't get caught; it doesn't matter what your friend is telling you to do...if you have integrity, then you will know the right thing and you will do the right thing."
And for whatever reason, it made me well up with tears. Today, I'm grateful that my children are surrounded by an entire community - at tae kwon do class, at temple, at playschool, and with my friends - who will celebrate their efforts to make good choices, and encourage them to grow up with good hearts as well as strong minds and bodies.
