Well, today was more of a retail orgy than we usually indulge in.
We decided to start riding bicycles together as a family - so now Ellie has an Ellie-sized bike, and I have new tires for my bike, and Daniel has a part to fix the front brakes on his bike. We also had a yummy excursion to Mellow Mushroom and afterwards we picked up the pieces Ellie and I had painted when at All Fired Up with
rowyn and
koogrr. (Pics of those pieces may follow, depending upon how ambitious I get.)
All in all, it feels pretty productive, if a stretch for our bank account. We ended up going a small bike shop instead of a big box store, which felt good in terms of both the service we received and supporting the local economy. The owner came down a lot from the original price and threw in a bell for Ellie and a sign for Daniel for free. She was really sweet.
Also...it's a Fuji Princess Inari bike, with a cute little picture of a girl and a fox on the front. Clearly we couldn't go wrong with that. =^.^=
