I may not be around much today. I need to clean this house, desperately. It looked good Wednesday night when David got home, but by Friday it was completely trashed. *sigh* I should have done more this weekend, but between not being home all day Saturday and lazing around yesterday... Anyway, I need to be productive today. I have to keep in my head how good I'll feel when it's in some semblance of order.

I'm using online to escape from rl too much, I think, which is a recurring theme in this journal. At the same time, many of my closest friends are here. That may be unhealthy too; I'm not sure. But in part I think it's a sign of the times: the good thing being that it's easier to find kindred spirits, the bad thing being that they're not always nearby. Once I get back to work, a significant part of my salary will just have to go to travel expenses; I don't see any way around that.

Speaking of travel...two weeks until Ellie and I go to NY! I can't wait! I think it'll be the perfect vacation--a friend for Ellie to hang with, a child-friendly environment, and two of my best friends to hang out with and really spend quality time with. I'm looking forward to spending time with all of the folks at Chez Gargoyle, including [livejournal.com profile] projectmothra. I can't wait for [livejournal.com profile] beetiger to see how much Ellie is talking and how much taller she is since their visit back in May. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since then. We're tentatively planning a trip to the zoo and a 'Floki and Peregrine take Manhattan' excursion. I'm not sure what else will happen, other than lots of good meals and good company. Like I said, I'm looking forward to it. Though I will obviously be very scarce online from 3/22 to 3/29.

Dave's out of town for his third and last trip in the space of three weeks. Oy. He'll be back Wednesday, and then Thursday Daniel gets his report card, and then Friday Daniel's Spring Break starts. I need to come up with some low-cost yet fun activities to do with the kids during that week. They'll be going completely stir-crazy by the end if I don't.

Oh! PuzzlePirates is fun. [livejournal.com profile] koogrr and [livejournal.com profile] rowyn were helping me with it a bit last night--Rowyn made me part of her crew and Koogrr took me shopping. It was great fun so far, and I can't wait to get back to it. It even filtered into my subconscious, where I dreamed about solving puzzles with them for a good part of the night. Kind of fun and disorienting all at the same time, but I like it when my subconscious gives me friend dreams.

So...it's time to take Daniel to school and then clean like a madwoman. :-D That's all I have for now. More content-intensive posts will have to wait.

YES. I can't wait to see what they have to say to each other now that they're both talking.
