Okay, so I love the icon I have now, which I snatched from some ad that was on Facebook. The filk part of it makes me want to giggle and sing the line.
To be clear, I do think that Bea Arthur is hot. So it's not meant to be poking fun at her. It's meant as a subtle critique on standards of beauty and the lyrics of the song. Bea Arthur did Maude when she was in her fifties. She was older, different, and - imo - gorgeous and classy.
But I'm wondering if that's a little subtle and if it just looks like I'm poking fun at Bea Arthur. And even that I think would be okay if it were with a loving spirit, which it would be, and not mocking her.
How does it come across? Should I change it, or just leave it because of what it means to me?
Thoughts?
