I am bouncysquee! today - quite partially because I had a bit of caffeine (in the form of TAZO chai - yum!) for the first time in a week, but also because I'm feeling so much better. I'm eating! I'm...able to move around and do stuff! I'm...not in the bathroom!
Actually, I am in the bathroom, or have been, for cleaning purposes. I am rediscovering the joy of bleach. I know, it's not in line with my values. It's not nontoxic. It's not good for the environment. Normally I can clean with vinegar (said to have all or most of the germ-fighting capability of bleach with none of the harsh qualities) and baking soda and water.
But...we have all been so so sick, and I am paranoid, so I put some indeterminate quality of bleach and hot water in a spray bottle and, basically, sprayed the fuck out of the bathroom. Floors, cabinets, bath toys, walls, bath, sink, all covered and wiped and covered again and wiped again. I was making up little Seuss-like hymns of praise to bleach in my head! And now it all has that bleachy smell that says yay! any viruses are deaddeaddead!!!
(Okay, so maybe I'm not as nonviolent as I'd like to think.)
Also...I am using the power of the disposable wipe! Again, I know they're bad. They're bad for the environment. There is no 'away' place on the Earth to throw things 'away,' at this point. I know that in my brain. But...I really want these germs away from my house, and me. I want them as far away as possible. I am sorry for doing stuff to Mother Earth, but...Far. Away. From. Me. So I am using and reusing disposable wipes and then Throwing Them Somewhere Else when I am done.
I think some of it's childhood stuff - which is a bad excuse - but nothing else seems to get things quite as clean and germ-free as bleach.
The bathroom's done, and the next in line is the kitchen.
I'm probably happier than this entry sounds. Seriously. I'm bouncing around, cleaning the house, and feeling so good because I can.
