I feel like I know 4), but I'm drawing a blank. Luckily, I can peg several of the other easy ones... :-)

10) "View to a Kill", Duran Duran -- the title track for the movie. I still remember the video for this one.
14) "Birdhouse In Your Soul", They Might Be Giants. I never got deeply into them, but I still love this song! "Not to put too fine a point on it..."
16) "Verb", and I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is the Moby cover I sent you, since I don't know if you have any other version recorded. :-)
18) "Vincent", Don McLean. I used to have this album somewhere; like Harry Chapin, it hasn't held up perfectly over time, but it's still good stuff.
23) "Just Like Heaven", The Cure. Another band I never really got into, but pretty good stuff!
28) is "You Really Got Me", like [livejournal.com profile] lupinekassidy says, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the Kinks version, not the Van Halen cover. :-)

#23 reminds me of you (see above). 16 is the version you sent me, and I prefer the Kinks version of "You Really Got Me" but the iTunes God gave me the Van Halen one (and I do like both).

I'm really surprised you didn't get #8. ;-)

25. 311 - "Beyond the Gray Sky" ♥ (I don't know why but I always get happy when someone appreciates 311 without me having to introduce them. :D)
29. I know it from "Be Not Afraid," which is a gospel song and I have no idea who wrote it. If someone's co-opted that for another song... I have no idea. :)

I have a version by John Michael Talbot that my mom gave me. I like some Christian music, believe it or not, and the words of that song especially are very soothing and comforting.

Is #17 by Krishna Das? It's not one of the songs I have, in any case. :)
