Okay. I started my period and spotted/had a light flow for five days. Then I flooded, with cramping and clots and just generally felt terrible for three days after that. Then it just seemed to turn off like a faucet. Fine, yay, period over after eight fucking days. Two days of period-free goodness, and then, yesterday? Spotting again. Today I'm spotting/light bleeding dark blood.

What. The. Fuck.

I have a headache and my sinuses are driving me crazy, and Dave was quite literally falling asleep at the keyboard last night, so it's not like I was going to have this incredibly mind-blowing erotic night anyway...but seriously, uterus, umm, what's up with this? Do you just like bleeding? Are you trying to let me know something's the matter down there? Are we gearing up for menopause ten years too early?

I hate having to prioritize health issues. Right now the need for a psychiatrist is ahead by a nose, but Need for Gynecological Care is really making it a close race.

I was going to write about something else, but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe it'll be a neurologist next. :-P

Maybe mercury retrograde messes with menstrual cycles too now? No less than 3 of my female lj friends between yesterday and today, and you are the 4th, have written about irregular spotting, too long or too heavy menstruation. All of them not in menopausal age at all. Weird stuff.

Heh. I was kind of cockblocked by Laura's uterus deciding to go flowy at V-Day time as well.

Sorry things seem a little odd, though. Hope you can get someone to check that out -- though I don't suppose it's too worrisome if it's a one-time occurrence.

I'd get that checked out. That's high enough on the "not normal" scale to merit some investigation. Had a pap smear lately?

I had a period like that recently. Spot spot spot light flow spot, lather rinse repeat, for nearly FOUR WEEKS. But I'm attributing that to having taken the pill for exactly two months last fall. Note to self: Hormonal birth control is fucking with the body, so STOP TRYING IT already.

How often is this happening? That definitely sounds like an anovulatory cycle. I was having them frequently last year, but it seems to have re-regulated itself.
