I hope you dance...
Jul. 5th, 2008 12:13 pmI know everyone's seen this by now, and while it's not Discovery Channel, Stride gum isn't exactly free from corporate self-interest.... And for all I know Matt may be a total schmuck.
But the freaking thing still makes me cry every single time I watch it. For the courage it takes to travel, to dance badly, and to ask other people to dance with you. For a world that can be both so large and so small at the same time. For each of us, alone, in the hopes that we can be a little less alone for a little while. For a day that celebrates USian independence, in hopes that it will one day celebrate our interdependence as well.

Date: 2008-07-05 04:56 pm (UTC)I buy Stride gum because they sponsored his 2006 world tour and video. It's good gum (I get the fruit flavor) but I would never have tried it if I hadn't heard about them through the video.
Thanks for sharing this. I had seen the 2006 and 2005 videos but didn't know he'd done one in 2008. <3

Thank heavens it's not just me. ^^'
Also, Seljalandsfoss!! There is something so big about Matt's videos, it feels good to know one of the places he's been to. :)
