Love

My MIL sent me that chain email where 4-8 year olds cutely describe what love means. It's not a bad thing on the whole, though I've read it enough times that it's more annoying than cute now.

In her email, she said, "I'd love to see what my grandchildren would say to this."

So, of course, I asked...

Ellie: Love means that people just love each other. It means that you all are a family and you just care for each other.

Daniel. I don't really know. (Ellie, in the background: Say what I said!) I don't know. It can mean a lot of things and it's so complex I pretty much don't understand any of them.

So...if you have a 4-8 year old nearby, or just a friend, feel free to play at home. Or answer here, for that matter.

What does love mean?

[personal profile] projectmothra mostly crawls into my lap and hugs tight when I ask, and says "I love /you/". But when pressed a little for words, he says, "Love is something that your heart makes."

Daniel has such an interesting understanding of the world for his age. That phrasing sounds so much like a 16-year old to me.

I love your kids.

Elizabeth: "Love is loving someone, and sharing, and kissing."

I'm surprised she didn't add anything about Benjamin at school in his plaid shirt. (He looks so good in the plaid shirt that she's decided to marry him.)
