Thing is, I've listened to plenty of music by The Beatles. It's just that even if I've heard this one, it just hasn't stuck in my head, or at least the lyrics haven't. That happens a lot.
For example, I didn't know who Depeche Mode was until after I composed a piece that sounded disturbingly like their style. When "introduced", I said, "Oh, that's who did those tracks! I didn't know!"
That happens to me with stuff I've heard more recently on the radio, because I don't really pay attention to (or flip through) the DJ saying what the songs are and who does them. Usually if I have the CD or buy the mp3 I know, though.
