This weekend I went to a really cool birthday celebration at Celebration.
The birthday in question was actually for a four year old, but the parents were smart enough to a) keep the party small, three kids total and b) serve alcohol for the adults. Actually, I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the kids. I know I had a good time. And it did change my opinion of Celebration, which was mostly along the lines of "it's a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want to live there." Now I think, "Well, I wouldn't mind living there, if I had the cash."
I don't know if it was the white picket fence or the champagne, but the quality of light even seemed different there...bright, white sunlight and a vividly blue sky, pale green grass, the whole day standing out in sharp relief, beautiful, like a crisp photograph, as we shared stories with new friends, making beautiful memories.
It still stands out in my mind as being a really fun way to spend an afternoon.
Sunday we visited D's parents, a visit that went pretty well. It would have been better with champagne though. No, I'm kidding... ;-)
Yesterday was a good day, got some catch-up stuff done. Our preschool is doing a church service for Mother's Day, so I managed to get some work done on that, which is good as it's two weeks out. Had a nice chat last night online with both koogrr and yakkorat. I'm afraid I kept koogrr up a little too late, though I have to say yakkorat was still wide awake when i logged off at 1am.
Good to know I'm not the only night owl in this place. *grin*
Well, I'd better go...this entry seems mundane and not at all indicative of my mood at the moment, which is actually pretty cheery. Small miracle, perhaps...but I'll take it.
A+
