mostly-clean bill of health
Apr. 1st, 2009 07:47 amOkay, I went to the doctor's office and at the time my area was very goopy (since I had just showered.) So she took some of the goop and I think will send it off to be checked. In the meantime, she gave me a prescription for antibiotic cream. She thinks that I got a bacterial infection, or maybe caused one by scratching it. So I'm to use that until Monday. If I still have issues on Monday, then I'm supposed to come back and they'll refer me to a dermatologist.
I feel better. Based on my most recent research and the appearance of the sore, infection seems likely. After that's cleared up, we can go from there with the mole.
Also, I have an appointment already on Monday to do lab work to check my thyroid, due to the fatigue and heavy periods. She thinks it's probably age-related and that being on the Pill will help.
Now it's off to get the car and then I'm really hoping I can grab a couple of hours of sleep before Dave goes into work, since I was up most of the night.
eta: I think I still need to see a dermatologist. But it makes sense to get the goopy stuff cleared up and then evaluate the mole.
