I'm realizing that I don't like puzzling nearly as much as I like watching people solve and speculate upon puzzles. Ditto ARGs. I find myself reading up on this in Unfiction forums and getting excited about what other people are doing.

Funny, the idea that puzzling could be a spectator sport. Maybe I'm just lazy. :-D

Exactly! Ooh, I love that phrase, too. I want to use it liberally now. (Biblioexhibitionist as well? :-D)

Yes, and yes. *grin* I will say that even as someone who loves solving puzzles, there's an absolute fascination in watching someone else do them — I get a lot of the joy of exploration, I just get it through someone else's eyes. This holds true for video games too, FWIW: I was as happy to watch Jeff play Fallout 3 — or even Braid — and get much of the neat stuff indirectly while being able to spend my time on other things. I suspect a lot of it is the same rush that teachers get, too, albeit more indirectly; but there's a certain fascination in watching someone's mind expand even when you're not the one doing it (and it's magnified that much more when you are, of course...)
