From [livejournal.com profile] citrinepoint:

Need some motivation to jump start your art into next year? Take the 30in30 challenge. If you paint, draw, sculpt, make jewelry, blow glass, knit, design whatever it is you do to create. Challenge yourself to make 30 in 30 days. You can start any time, you can choose any size (hint for those who say they don't have time: Make ATC size or minis of your regular work!) Even if you don't complete the challenge you will have more completed work then if you never tried.

I don't think I'm up for doing this with poetry, but I'm hoping to do a sketch a day, just for fun and practice. Who's in?

I started doing this with music a while back, but didn't get far because a larger project came along and sucked up the energy. I'm not sure I want to do this now because I don't want to rush 13R that much (though catching up would be good) and I don't want to steal its energy any more than it's already been depleted.

Still, I wholeheartedly endorse this plan. Best of luck!

Meh, I don't think so. Today's been crazy. I might actually wait until next week when the kids are back in school.

I was wondering about that. :) Let me know when you're starting, I'm kinda interested in art cards and I could use sketching practice.

Is there a good email address for contacting you? It might be fun to share our sketches with each other. Or we could post in LJ too, whatever works for you.

I am leaning towards January 1st, just because I like the symbolism of it. What do you think?

My gmail account is ladyrowyn; my livejournal address works too (it goes to the gmail addy). January 1 sounds great -- gives me a three day weekend to get started. :)

I want to do art cards, because they're cute and [livejournal.com profile] djinni was talking about how fun they are. I'll probably scan & post the ones I like eventually. But email would be neat, I can take cellphone pix and not worry about quality. :)

What are art cards exactly? Is Djinni's post on it public? (I'm running out the door right now so being lazy - I can peek when I get back.)

I have no scanner so cellphone pix are it for me right now. :-P

Yep, post is public: http://djinni.livejournal.com/203734.html

Really Quick Version: they're playing-card-sized works of original art.

I really want to go out and buy some pre-cut ones tonight, because, well, art supplies generally inspire me to do art with them, for a little while. :) The snow will probably deter me though, drat it.
